Family Snow Day

We've have a few snow storms lately, making for a fresh blanket of snow in our yard.  One weekend afternoon after nap time, all four of us decided to go play in the snow!  What a fun way to make memories:)  Here's a peek at our adventures!

Elijah liked watching the action from a safe distance (and out of the snow!)

DIY Valentine's Day Sign

In the spirit of Valentine's Day, I decided to make a fun sign for our front entry way.  I used a Bible verse as my inspiration.  I designed it for Valentine's day, but you could really use it any time of the year:)
Faith, Hope, Love
'And now these three remain: Faith, hope, and love. But the greatest one of these is love.'
1 Corinthians 13:13

Here's what you need to make your own!

Supplies: Wood Board, paint, letter stencils, paint brushes, sharpie markers
(I found my supplies at Target and Walmart)

1. Paint the sign your background color and let dry.

2. Use stencils to paint letters onto board.  Let each letter dry before starting next.  Make sure you press the stencil down firmly when painting so that paint doesn't bleed through or spread beyond the letter form.  (For the 'O' in LOVE I made a heart. I used a pencil to free-hand a heart outline, then filled it in with red).

3.  Add the scripture verse along the bottom using a sharpie marker.

4. Ta-Da!  A fun homemade sign for Valentine's Day:)

Here's our sign up in the entry way!

Happy Valentine's Day to you!

Sharks!

We've been meaning to take the kids to the Sea Life Exhibit at the mall for quite a while, and we finally made it there!  We had a great time looking for Nemo, watching turtles, spotting jellyfish, and ...Bella's favorite part of the Exhibit...seeing the SHARKS!  That's right, our darling little girl doesn't oohhh and aahhh over the cute little sea horses. Nope, she runs ahead of the crowd shouting, "Sharks!  Mom, Dad, I see the sharks!"  Elijah liked it too...in his more laid-back, quietly watch-the-fishies sort of way.  When I asked him where the fish were, he pointed and grunted.  Works for us:)

SHARK!

After the excitement of the aquarium, we rode some fun rides (Dora and Diego were even there!), and then ate lunch at the Rainforest Cafe.  Bella liked the restaurant until it started to thunderstorm.  Then she put her hands over her ears and said, "I'm scared!".  She was mostly being silly, but still had a little hint of worry on her face.  The storms didn't phase Elijah one bit-he was way too busy eating (probably not surprising to those of you who know him well!).  We had a fun day and are excited to go back again sometime.

Happy Adventures to You!
